Colin Farrell (175 pounds, 5 feet 10 inches).

Says he really looked to “The Biggest Loser” reality weight loss television show to prepare for his role in Total Recall. He used the methods of cardio mixed with weight training to achieve his body. He says the show is one of his favourites because the show serves as an inspiration. The lean and cut actor said he ate “a lot of greens and chicken” and he “didn’t order dessert for four months.” It seems attitude has a lot to do with it!

Farrell was born on 31 May 1976 in Dublin, Ireland to parents Rita and Eamon in a Roman Catholic family. What drew the young star to acting was the being emotionally affected by the Steven Spielberg international film E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, which he admits moved him to tears. With that reaction, his brother Eamon pushed Farrell to attend the Gaiety School of Acting, to which the actor dropped out of as soon as he landed the role of Danny Byrne on BBC drama Ballykissangel. His older sister, Claudine doubles as a personal assistant and fitness partner.

Colin James Farrell is an Academy Award winning actor who has a long and impressive Hollywood resume. He favors action movies such as S.W.A.T. and The Recruit (2003) but then also does biopics like Alexander (2004) and intense dramas like Saving Mr. Banks (2013). Farrell is a director favorite and coming up in 2014 is set to star with fellow actors Russell Crowe and Will Smith in a film adaption of Mark Helprin's Winter's Tale.

The star often has rumors of being a playboy swirling around in his life and as reputation of dating Angelina Jolie, former Playboy playmate Nicole Narain, model Kim Bordenave and Ondine costar, Alicja Bachleda-Curuś – the latter two which he has sons with.

Health and Wellness

Farrell has an amazing body but you would be surprised to learn that he does not like to go the gym. This celebrity does have a personal trainer but proves that you do not need that get fit – his usual workout partner is his older sister and personal assistant Claudine. This family duo proves that working out does not have to be solitary and often having a gym buddy is motivation to push against your own limits. The actor favors running outside to keep lean and supplements this with targeted body movements: pushups, arm curls and squats. Interestingly, as an alternative to weights the actor has admitted to using water jugs and rocks to add resistance.

You can only see Farrell at the gym when a movie role absolutely requires him to put that level of dedication into the work. At that point, he pushes his workout further by incorporating military drills, pushups and side steps into his routine. He has also been known to indulge in boxing to build agility but falls back onto the dependable method of running the majority of the time.
